The Age Of Social Media.

Nowadays we live in a world where social media is part of our everyday lives. It can be a way of communicating, making friends and even a job. It drives us to always put our best foot forward and show the world our most perfect self. Some may call this fake, personally I believe that it helps to build confidence.

Social media comes in many forms, the most popular are Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. From personal experience I can say these aren’t always used quite right. Social media allows us to show the world who we are, but sometimes the wrong information can get out. It’s always important to think about what you post. Would you want your grandmother to see it? What about employers, friends, your future children? I used to post things that looking back now, were less than smart shall we say. Regret can be consuming. Once something is online it can never truly be gone, and can haunt you forever. It’s a way of learning however, all I can do is think before I post (as I always do now) and warn others. There’s never any need to stir up trouble by posting something on Facebook about how fake your friends are, it just makes you look petty if you understand where I’m coming from. Be proud of who you are and post what makes you make confident, but do you really want your mum stumbling across an instagram of you with your bum on show? Anyone can see what you post unless of course you set an account to private, even then it’s still risky. So be smart, post only what you want to show the world, and keep yourself safe. Use social media as a way of building yourself up, not tearing others down.
